In today's world...

In today's world no one sends cards or makes phone calls. Everything is on Facebook,through email or text message.
Don't get me wrong I LOVE technology and I use it every day...but when it comes to important things I believe we should all take the time to put more effort into things. I know I would much rather get a birthday phone call than someone to text me or write on my Wall via Facebook. Does anyone make time and put effort into things anymore?
This topic is weighing heavily on my heart right now as I just celebrated my 30th Birthday and to me it was something that was supposed to be a pretty big milestone in life....well I guess those close to me didn't see it that way...and I know everyone is caught up in their own life with their own things going on but honestly who can't spare 5 minutes to make a phone call, sign and mail a card or take 15 minutes to try and coordinate something special to do for someone who ALWAYS does things for everyone else?! Disappointment this birthday...I guess I expect too much from people...and if I didn't then I wouldn't be so let down. No birthday flowers, no birthday card, no birthday cake...sure I got some awesome presents that were given to me earlier than my actual birthday and I am forever grateful for them! It's not about presents though...it's about effort and love.

Welcome to the 30's!

Well today is  the day...the day I have been dreading since I hit 25...I'm 30 years old! So far so good though. I haven't taken it nearly as emotionally as I anticipated. Some one told me today...age is only a number...attitude is everything. So good-bye to the 20's...it was fun...alot of fun! I have many many wonderful memories! Welcome to the "Next 30 Years" its going to be better than ever! Life is just starting to blossom. (however in my head I will remain 29 forever)

Lucky Lady...

I am one lucky lady!
My amazing mother in law surprised me and came over for dinner to celebrate my birthday (the dreaded 30!) I was also surprised with some very awesome presents (that were totally un-nessecary but greatly appreciated!) a new awesome mixer and gift certificates to Earth and Fire from the kiddies!
My hubby got me the camera bag I have been wanting for a while now! I am so excited!
